Mayor’s Summer Reading Challenge fun for everyone!

We know you are and the Mayor’s Summer Reading Challenge is the perfect time to pick up a book for everyone in the family! Read Fort Worth is partnering with the Fort Worth Public Library and visit one of their 17 locations to join the Challenge!

The best part is everyone can join! There are no age limits and there are even prizes for readers of all ages! Pick up reading forms after May 13. The Challenge begins in June and ends in August.

Sign up your kids for Pre-K & Kinder!

There is still time to sign up your child online for Pre-K and Kindergarten!

Fort Worth ISD is hosting “Your Child Belongs Here!” on Thursday, May 9 (noon-7 p.m.) at the MLK Community Center (5565 Truman Dr., 76112). Join us to learn more about early childhood education and get help to register online!

The whole family is invited! A DJ will be there and food and snacks for everyone!

FWISD’s Pre-K program is free and there is enough room for every child. Children go to school every day from 7:50 a.m. – 2:15 p.m. each day. Enroll today for the 2019-2020 school year at www.fwisd.org/prek.


Family Literacy Celebration

FWISD Logo Web 3Bring the entire family out to the Family Literacy Celebration! It’s on Saturday, May 18 (9 a.m. to noon) at Billingsley Field House (1400 Foch Street, 76107).

There will be free books, plus information on summer programs, summer reading activities for children, ESL adult education and physical activities for the summer! It’s going to be a great time for everyone!


StoryWalk coming to Botanic Garden

Come on out to the first StoryWalk on Saturday, May 11 at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden! The free family event is all about reading, being healthy and enjoying nature!

The StoryWalk will be on Pollinator Pathway and will highlight the book, A Butterfly is Patient. For more information please visit: fwbg.org.

Dads, let’s read with your kids!

The All Pro Dad program promotes fathers reading with their children this summer. The program is new to Fort Worth and is coming to 21 Fort Worth community centers this summer.
