2018 Summer Scholars Cohort
Read Fort Worth is pleased to announce the 2018 Summer Scholars Cohort that has been selected to implement quality summer learning programs aimed at providing young readers the reinforcement they need to grow in literacy skills over the summer and not lose ground.
We received applications from organizations collectively serving almost 850 students at over 26 sites this summer and will be able to partner with all eight of the organizations that submitted applications.
These providers will adopt and implement Best Practices around summer literacy, receive training around instruction and assessment, receive access to the adopted common measurement tool and support/visibility with local foundations.
The selection committee felt that having a diverse group of participating organizations, with differing curricular and dosage models, would allow for the most meaningful data collection and evaluation.
The providers are:
- AB Christian Learning Center
- Project Transformation
- Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Fort Worth and Girls Inc.
- United Community Centers
- Clayton YES
- YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth
- Fort Worth Library

Is there any program to teach middle school age and high schoolers STEM during the summer?
