Read Fort Worth launched the DRIVE Learning Anywhere Campaign, an $850,000community appeal supporting Fort Worth ISD’s purchase of 6,000 hotspot devices with best practices in virtual learning for families to maximize the academic impact of these digital tools. Facebook’s lead gift of $500,000 gets us nearly 60% to our goal. Read Fort Worth turns to YOU to raise the remaining $350,000.
Data collected from Fort Worth ISD’s technology inventory showed that 6,000 students did not have home internet access. Without this technology, students are unable to join virtual learning classrooms with their teacher and classmates, shutting them out of learning. Read Fort Worth is stepping up to be part of the solution by launching Devices & Resources to Impact Virtual Education (DRIVE) Learning Anywhere. The 6,000 hotspots with annual data plan from AT&T are being distributed to students without home internet, equipping students with free access and families with best practice supports that empower them in this new learning at home environment.
